Review by hotel critic
Eyezulu Guesthouse, situated in the Pinetown suburb, certainly has its charm, but let me be frank-I was left wanting more. Upon arrival, we were welcomed warmly by Andrew, who would later assist us with our luggage and show us to our room, which was indeed clean and comfortable. It featured a flat-screen TV, and I genuinely appreciated the presence of a desk and free Wi-Fi-a must for any business traveler like myself. Despite these positives, there were significant concerns about security; the open gate leading to a dimly lit street didn't sit well with me, especially given my corporate background where safety is paramount. The lack of immediate assistance upon our arrival was disconcerting, and the pool area's overwhelming neglect painted a rather unfavourable picture. While Griffith, the owner, made an effort to be accommodating, we ultimately chose to leave for a better option nearby. In summary, while the guesthouse has potential, it's not somewhere I'd recommend for either solo or business travelers seeking peace of mind during their city break.
